Raimund Dachselt  (Uni Magdeburg) Thema  Learning from HCI: Towards Seamless User Interfaces for Software Engineering Activities Termin  Di 17.06.2008, 14:00 Uhr Ort  Klostergasse 3, Raum 2.03/2.04 Abstract  The talk will first introduce novel user interfaces for faceted-browsing in the domain of personal information and media management. Among them Mambo (Mobile fAcet-based Music BrOwser), a zoomable user interface we developed for browsing personal music collections on various devices. The scalable interface based on the FacetZoom widget can be also used with a set of mobile phone gestures. They allow for the transfer of media documents and even whole interfaces to large displays and an intuitive remote interaction. The talk also introduces recently developed applications and techniques in the field of tabletop interfaces and digital pen and paper applications, which support a very natural user interaction. The talk illuminates the application of these techniques and their transfer to the domain of software engineering, specifically software modeling. The usage of novel visualization and interaction techniques in this field, including multi-touch displays, sketched diagrams and the interaction through zoomable user interfaces is a promising direction of research.
